About me
Kay Thibodeaux is head chocolatier and president of The Touring Chocolatier. She has over 15 years of experience in the chocolate industry, and obtained her chocolatier certification from Ecole Chocolat. She has worked with influential and award-winning chocolate industry personnel such as Ed Seguine, member of the Heirloom Cacao Preservation Initiative and the scientist who helped map the cocoa genome; as well as Food Network personality Chef Jin Caldwell. She has also attended classes at Johnson & Wales in Denver, CO and the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) in New York City.
Kay is a member of the Fine Chocolate Industry Association and the Retail Confectioners International organization. She has been featured on CBS News, ABC News, UNT-TV, and various newspaper and magazine articles. She & her husband travel often to locate craft chocolate-makers to share their stories with their own clientele.
The Touring Chocolatier is an artisanal chocolatier shoppe specializing in gourmet chocolates, specialty chocolate “finds,” experiences, and unique giftables. They set themselves apart by bringing people together to educate them about chocolate and to enjoy fine chocolate, made right in their own production facility.
There are two locations in Texas – a production facility & retail store in Northlake, and a new chocolate shop, bakery & classroom in Flower Mound
